Show REPOR'I' OF THE COMMISSIONER OP INDIAX AFFAIRS. 95 Kansas and Arkansas Valley-Railway.-The act of February 24,1891 (26 Stats., 783, and page 627 of this report), authorizes the construction of the following lines of railway, in addition to the roads authorized to be built by the act of June 1,1886 (24 Stats., 73) : A line beginning at the most snitable point on the present maim line of said rail-way at or near Wagoner, in the Indian Territory, and thenoe ruoniog in a westerly and northwesterly direction by the most feasible and practicable route, passing throogh or near the town of Guthrie, in the Oklahoma country, sod through or near Fort Supply military reservation to a pbint on the western hvondary line of the In-dian Territory; also an additional or branch line ronning from the most anitable point on the line laat above described, in a aonthwesterly direction, and passing throngh or nem Oklahoma City, sod through or nearFort Reno milit&ryreservation, to a point on the western boundary line of the Indian Territory sooth of the point whre the Canadian River oroases said boundary line; also s, linecommenoing at the most prltctioahle point on the main line s t or near Fort Gibson, and running thenoe in a soothwesterly direction throngh the Cherokee, Creek, Chaotsw, and Chiokasaw oountries, either or all of them, to a point an thesoothern boundary line of theIndian Territory, with the right to oonatruct, use, and maintain such traots, torn.outs, land sidings a8 8&id~ omp ( ~mn ayy deem it to its interest to construot along and upon the right of way and depot grounds herein provided for. Up to the present time no maps have been tiled by the company,and, so far as this office is advised, none of the conditions prescribed by the act as prerequisite have been complied with. Sherman and Northwestern Railway.-The act of Octoher 1,1890 (26 Stats., 6:32), grants the right of way throngh the Oklahoma and Indian Territories, but the preliminary conditions of the act have not yet been complied with, and hence the work has not begun. RED LAKE RESERVATION, MINNESOTA. Red Lake and Western Railway and Navigation'Company.-The act of Octoher 1, 1890 (26 Stats., GGO), grants right of way through the reser-ration in a ndrtheasterly direction upon condition that the consent of a majority of the male adolt Indians is obtained. No maps of definite location have been filed, aud it is not known that any steps have been taken looking to a compliance with the preliminary conditions of the act. BLATHEAD RESERVATION, MONTANA. Missonla and Northern Railway.-The act of March 3,1891 (26 Stats., 1091, and page 671 of this report), grants the right of way from a point at or near [he mouth of the Jocko River, on the Northern Pacific Rail-road, runnbg thence in a northerly direction to the southerly end of Flathead Lake, and thenoe by the most practicable route, either to the east or westof said lake,in a northerly direction to the northern bound-ary of Montana. No maps of the definite location have been filed. SILETZ RESERVATION, OREGON. Newport and King's Valley Railway.-The act of October 1,1890 (26 Stats., 663), grants right of way from a point on the eastern boundary |
