It is desirable, at as early a day as practicable, to establish additionaJ schools as follows : On Southern Ute,* EtoopaVnlley, Jicarilla Apache, Western Shoshone, ant1 Spokane Reser~ationsa, nd possiblv in the Zuni pueblo, where no boardiug sol~oolsh are yet been provided, andupon the White Mountain, Navajo, Moqni, Pima, White Earth, and Piue Ridge reserves, where additional schools are required to supply the needs of theschool population. Upon nlangotber reservations where newschools are not required existing schools must hare tlleir accommodations enlarged to supplj the edncational ueecls of !he respectivereservations. Much attention has been paid to their improvement, old houses have beeu repaired, new houses have beeu built, aud better ap-paratus has been provided. This is espeoially true of the efforts that are IIOW iu progress among the Sioux. Reretofore tho limitation of $600 for the cost of .a day-school building anywhere has brought the expenditure so low as in many cases to render it impracticable to put up a suitable house.
