Show REPORT OF THE COMMISSIONEB OF INDIAN AFFAIRS. 57 raising and fruit-growing. At Baskell, in addition to shoe, harness, and wagon making, special attention might he paid to normal training. At Perris, Phcenix, and Grand Junction, there are Feasons for making a specialty of fruit.growing. Especial attantion is iuvited to the reports ' of the superintendents of these training schools as showing in detail the improveme~ltsth at are being made. The record of industrial work is particularly gratifying. I have reoomme~tded the establishment of a school at Fort Lewis for I the Southern Utes, but at present I do not see the necessity for the 1 establishment of any more nonreservation training schools unless pos-sibly one should be established for the New Pork Indlans. The nine-teen now already in operation or in process of establishment, or reoom-mended, will probably meet all the demands that are likely to be made. It will be desirable to enlarge and more properly equip Rome of them, bat 1 am of the opinion that it would be better to enlarge those that are 1 already authorized than to establish new ones.
