Show Constitution and By-Laws 165 ARTICLE VII The Section 1. Government of Divisions and Sections. Chairman of each Division shall be elected by ballot by the mem bers of that Division present at the alternate annual meeting to serve for a period of two. years. The Chairman of each section shall be elected by ballot by the members of that section present at each meeting to. serve for the succeeding meeting. ARTICLE VIII Section 1. Nominating Committee. Not less than sixty days prior to the annual meeting of the Academy, the President shall appoint a Nominating Committee of three memers of diverse interests, who shall, before selecting the candidates, poll the mem bers by mail asking them to express choice from a list of names submitted. ARTICLE IX Section 1. Annual Meeting. An annual meeting of the Academy for the transaction of business, and immediately pre ceded by a business meeting of the Council, shall he held each year during the month 'Of April or May. Section 2. Other Meetings. Other meetings of the Academy, divisions, or sections, shall be held at times and places as may be directed or approved by the Council. ARTICLE X Section 1. This Constitution may be amended in the fol lowing manner; a proposed amendment in writing, signed by five members in good standing shall be submitted to the Secretary not less than three days before a business meeting of the Academy. The Secretary shall then present it to the Council for consider ation, following which, it shall be presented to the next business meeting of the Academy together with recommendations of the Council. Then at the next regular business meeting of the Acad and may be adopted by a favoring emy, it shall be brought to vote vote of three fourths of the members in good standing present at the meeting. ARTICLE XI By-Laws. By-Laws for the government' of the Academy which are not in conflict with this Constitution shall be adopted by the Council by a three-fourths Section 1. business of the |
