Show Constitution ARTiCLE IV Section 1. General Officers. The general officers of the Academy shall consist of a President, First Vice-President, Sec ond Vice-President, General Secretary, and Archivist. The Pres ident and Vice-Presidents shall be chosen by ballot from' the Fellows of the Academy at the annual meeting. They shall hold office for one year, or until their .successors are chosen. The General Secretary and Archivist shall be ielected by the Council from among the Fellows of the Academy. The General Secretary shall hold office for five years. The Archivist shall ,hold office until his successor shall be elected. Section 2. Council. The Council shall consist of the im mediate Past President, the President, the Vice-Presidents, the General Secretary and three councillors-at-Iarqe to be elected by ballot at the annual meeting from among the Fellows of the Academy. Councillors-at-larqe shall be elected for terms of three years which terms shall overlap. Section 3. Vacancies. In the event of a vacancy in the office of President, the First Vice-Prestdent shall serve the unexpired term, and the Second Vice-President shall succeed the First Vice President. The Council shall have power to fill any other vacancy in offices. , ARTICLE V " Section 1. Duties of Officers and the Council. Officers shall perform duties usually pertaining to their respective offices or duties set forth by the Council and approved by a majority of members present at a regular business meeting of the Academy. Within the Academy shall be four divisions: The Division of Physical Sciences, the Division of Social Sciences, the Division of Biological Sciences, and the Division of Arts and Letters. Section 2.
