Meet promptly at l;QOp,m, Betsy Returns ( From Smithsonian Internship Betsy Quintana, our Assistant Curator of Education, received an Award for Museum Leadership from the Smithsonian Institution, jar an essay she wrote on her museum ' experience and goals. Betsy was awarded a stipend which enabled her to spend a week in July researching and meeting with people from the Smithsonian and the National Gallery. She had the opportunity to meet with outstanding professionals in the field, share ideas and gain a broader perspective of art education on a national level. "I feel extremely lucky to have been chosen to represent the museum. My week at the Smithsonian was one of the most valuable experiences of my life. I gained confidence and a great appreciation for my career in the museum profession." Thel3aroque Class is schedule for Thursdays in October and early November from 1:00-3:00 p.rr . While there, Karin shared her expertise and learned from other docents attending from around the nation. ·aest wishes to Karin as.she leaves for her yearlong mission in Great -Britain. |
