Show 50 the conditions and procedures during the sessions and strengthened the reward conditions by allowing more opportunities to earn the reward per day. Future Research Future research needs include replicating this study for external validity purposes. This would require repeating the conditions of this study, using a similar population of participants, a similar setting, and the same procedures. Another area for fiiture research is investigating a similar comparison with different populations of students. This could include using the procedures with students in different disability categories such as learning disabled, emotionally disturbed (behavior disordered), and communication disordered. Future research could also include using a similar procedure with regular education students who are not served in the special education environment. Another possibility for fiiture research is to study a similar comparison with different age groups, including preschoolers, early elementary grade students, and adolescents. Other research studies could examine using other types and combinations of group reinforcement contingencies, such as dependent and independent group contingencies, in conjunction with functional assessment. These research efforts should investigate how to increase and maximize the effects of matching rewards in group contingency conditions to the functions of problem behavior. These efforts also need to look into the quantity and quality of the reinforcement. |
