Results of environmental manipulations for Student E's fianctional assessment. Group Assignment The participants were assigned to a group based on the fimction oftheir behavior. One group consisted of students whose behavior was perceived to be primarily motivated by escaping and avoiding tasks and demands. This group was called the Escape Group and had 5 members, Students A, B, C, D, and E. The other group was made up of students who were considered to be primarily motivated by teacher attention. This group was called the Attention Group and had 4 members, Students F, G, H, and I. Table 2 lists each student, their primary behavior (highest score on the MAS and Functional Assessment Observation Form), and the perceived function of their behavior. |
