Vol. 9, pp. 1706- 1725) He resides at Lees Ferry, Arizona, is forty- four years old, his general experience in life having been spent in the [ United States] Navy and around water and rivers. His duties were generally with engines, boilers and motor boats. He is a mechanic, and has repaired and operated motor boats. R. 1706- 1707. He first went to Lees Ferry, Arizona, in August, 1922, and has resided there since that time. At the present time there are three families living at Lees Ferry besides himself. He has made one trip between Greenriver, Utah, and the Hermit Trail in the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River [ down the Green and Colorado Rivers], and he made several short trips around Hermit Trail and up the [ Colorado] river above Lees Ferry. The Hermit Trail is located about ten miles below the Bright Angel Trail. His present occupation is that of a Recorder for the United States Geological Survey. R. 1707. On the expedition down the [ Green and Colorado] rivers he left Greenriver, Utah, on November 10, 1927. " Q. Who was in the party? " A. There was Mr. Larney [ Sic.
