Wasn't any ranchers I know of but one old fellow in the head of the Comb Wash, about thirty- five miles up the wash from the San Juan river, had a little patch alfalfa, raised a little bit of corn. " Q. When you first went in there, were the Indians using this river? " A. Was which? " Q. Did the Indians use this river when you first want in there, travel in boats on it? " A.
