The oil company that he is interested in is named the " Bluff oil Company" and they have a consolidated permit [ from the Government] covering different sections. They first had the land under the Placer Act, and after the Oil Leasing Act of 1920, the Government allowed them to consolidate in one permit, the Bluff Oil Company was then organized, and there are a number of stockholder in the company besides his brother and himself. The permit he is interested in is a United States permit and it covers different portions of the oil field in two different townships near Mexican Hat, about thirty miles below Bluff. The permit is not in the river bed, nor in the canyon, but on the east limb of the west anticline, although one corner of it may extend down in the bed of the canyon and comes very near the river.
