Show tion of Parker Dam, a structure hereinafter described, in the main stream of the Colorado River,, for the purposes, as hereinafter more fully set forth, of controlling floods and regulating navigation, of irrigating and reclaiming lands within the Colorado River Indian Reservation and certain public lands of the United States, of protecting Federal property from damage by floods, of reregulating the water discharged at Hoover (Boulder) Dam, in such manner as to enable more effective use of said Boulder Dam, and for other public purposes. II That Parker Dam is located about 150 miles -southwest of said Boulder Dam, shortly below the -confluence of the Bill Williams River and the Colorado River, and about 10 miles north of the northern boundary of the Colorado River Indian Reservation, located in the State of Arizona. The eastern abutment of said Dam rests upon public lands of the United States in the State of Arizona and its western abutment rests upon unsurveyed public lands of the United States in the State of California. Pursuant to certain specifications ani drawings of the TJnited States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Parker Dam, when comp^eteA, will constitute a concrete and steel strilcttiTe resting upon bed rock at an elevation of 135 feet above sea level, or about 240 feet below the present bed of the Colorado River, and rising to* |
