Show PREFAC < oileits o sernee d reprint of any former work, has bee compiled because of the interest shown in OLD PAPERMAKING, issue in limited form in 1923. The edition of OLD PAPERMAKING wa limited to fewer than 200 copies; any more than this number, owing t the methods used in the making of the books, would bave been out of th question. The demand was much greater than bad been expected, an many students of printing and papermaking, as well as many biblioDhiles, were unable to procure copies; the volumes now fetch price beyond their worth. Not only was the edition of OLD PAPERMAKIN limited in number, but owing to physical limitations in printing, th Size of the book, and therefore the amount of test, were materiall 7educed from the original plan. The present book deals with the sam phase of papermaking but in @ more comprebensive manner than th older wor'k; not only i it issued in a larger edition than was possidle i 1he private press items, but it contains additional text and a greate aariely of illustrative material.
