It was from the works of Leender van Natrus, Johannis van Zyl, Joseph de Lalande, and N. Desmarets that the papermakers of the eighteenth century gained thei No. 5 Gerard Meerma knowledge, and very fine text-books they were too, for even toda itis possible to learn from these volumes a great deal regarding th making of handmade paper. A Dutch edition" of the de Laland work was issued in quarto in Dordrecht in 1762.
