This manuscript diary constitutes the most valuable document in the annals of papermaking In chronological order, but not in papermaking importance, th next volume to be listed would be the manuscript costbook of th Ripoli press, which was compiled in Florence from 1474 to 1483 This manuscript (13x 19 cm.) is now in the Magliabechian Li brary, Florence, where it should always remain. The book has Papermaking interest inasmuch as it gives the names and prices o Paper in use for printing at that time. These names include, "larg Paper of Bologna in common folio, paper of Fabriano with crossbow for watermark, the same with cross watermark, paper o Colle, paper of Prado, paper of Pescia with spectacles for watermark, the same with glove or hand for watermark." The price Would work out at about six dollars for a ream of folio paper. Thi book,like that writcen by Ulman Stromer almost a hundred year carlier, is beyond the collector, but photographic copies may b had of both by applying to the directors of the museum or librar where they are deposited. There is one item, however, which th Paper bibliophile should acquire, and that is a copy of Schedel' Liber Chronicarum, which was printed in Niirnberg by Anthon Koburger in 1493.
