CLARENCE SNOWBoard of Regentsâ- Behind the scenes there moves a silent force directing the larger affairs of the university, charged by the citizens of the state with the task of seeing that all goes well with this great institution. This directing force is the Board of Regents, appointed by the governor, and consisting of some of our finest and ablest citizens, who give us freely and unsparingly of their time and effort. While the members of the board are, perhaps, not actively known around the campus, yet their influence is felt in every important activity of the school. Many of these men and women have been connected with the Board for many years, and the service of all of them is entirely unselfish. It is a truism to state thata greater institution bespeaks fine leadership, and in this connection we state, without reservation, that Utah always has been particularly fortunate in the high caliber of its Board of Regents. The present Board, under the chairmanship of Dr. Clarence Snow, is splendidly representative of the men and women who have directed the destiny of the University of Utah down through the years. â- The present membership consists of Dr. Snow, D. H. Chris-tensen, Dr. George Thomas, John E. Carver, J. W. Robinson, Dr. John J. Galligan, James W. Wade, Mrs. Dan B. Shields, Milton H. Welling, Thomas A. Williams, Robert Hinckley, Mrs. A. J. Gorham, Dr. Joseph Hughes, and James Inge-bretsen.Twenty-five |
