W. Prescott Dunn and Louise Howe, both well known to the drama enthusiasts of Salt Lake, played the leading roles. This play was under the direction of Harry Allen. â- "A Murder Has Been Arranged," a thrilling mystery story written by Emlyn Williams, and directed by Merrill Ben-nion, in which Ina Lloyd and Richard Parry played the leading parts, was the second production of the year. â- Rachel Crothers' most popular comedy, "As Husbands Go," with Angus Boyer, in the role of the patient, contented husband, and Cora Copening, playing the part of the scheming wife, proved to beone of the outstanding dramatic hits of the season. Professor Maud May Babcock, assisted by a staff of Theta Alpha Phi members, directed this production. "One of the unusually fine presentations of the season was "The Trial of Mary Dugan," directed by Joseph F. Smith. The players were very successful in creating the tenseness, excitement and tragedy of this famous court room play. Virginia Greenwell Neville played the title role of Mary Dugan, with Paul Badger as her brother, Jimmy, and Merrill Bennion and Bar-rie Wanless as the attorneys. â- All the humor and satire which is given the mother-in-law situation was very cleverly portrayed in that popular comedy, "Another Language," produced by the fraternity as its last performance of the season. Hyde Clayton, Leora Thatcher, and Wanda Clayton Stewart played the leading roles. Lila Eccles Brimhall directed this presentation.r\Ir -IUA MURDER HAS BEEN ARRANGEDuTwo Hundred Seventy-three |
