Show the school. Lee Anderson and "Dutch" Adams, two promising sophomore quarter-milers, are being watched closely by Armstrong as they will carry his hopes next year. â- Ernest Barlow, although only a sophomore, has shown he has the makings of a real miler. Ernie has run several fast miles and is expected to run a 4:25 before the season ends. â- Howard Greenwell has been unable to get full speed as yet this year, due to an injured leg. But "Porky" will be back next year as the ace sprinter. In the 880-yard event, Frank Daughters and Sam Smith have done well. Both have two more years. â- Four freshmen have carried on their class honor this year. They are Jack Thornley, who hasalready broken the state record for the javelin, Rands Wiley, consistent two-miler, Verle Strom, low hurdler converted from a a quar-. ter-miler, and John Grosso who has come close to the state discus record several times. H Harry Ostler, who has one more year of track competition, has broken the state hammer record this year and is expected to cop the hammer and shot honor in '35. The hurdles will not suffer from graduation. Strom and Dansie will both return. â- Distinct losses will be felt in the broad jump, javelin, and pole vault where Aldo Richins, Hack Davies' and Frank Hodge leave holes to be filled through their graduation. H The fruits of victory are about harvested for this track season.First row: Douglas, Anderson, Daughters, Goldstein, Franks, Call, Grosso, Chez, Mitchell, Barlow, Dansie,Gallagher.
