Show vs. B.Y.U. 87At Provo April 21, 1934â- Handicapped by the absence of Greenwell, Adams, and Hartenstein, Utah lost the first dual track meet of the season to B.Y.U. Despite the score of 87-58, Utah showed it could be a strong contender for conference laurels. â- Barlow-gave the Utah fans a pleasant surprise by defeating Taylor in the mile. Goldstein captured high points with 1U/4- Ostler came next with 11 points. â- Thornley tasted his first college competition and responded by throwing the javelin 186 feet for a first place with Davies second. Dansie contributed 4 points and Hodge tied for first in the pole vault. The relay team composed of Sentker, Mitchell, Franks and Goldstein won the 880-yard event. â- The Utes captured seven first places.
