Show I T44-EUTONIAN IA.S.U.U. ENTERTAINMENTwEDWARD McGEAN Chairmanâ- The A. S. U. U. Dance Committee had a most successful season during 1933-34. Hundreds of couples danced to the rhythmic tunes of the leading dance orchestras in the spacious and delightful Union Building ballroom. More money than ever before was made from these dances. â- Under the very competent chairmanship of Ed McGean, the committee presented original and decorative themes for each dance which suited both the guests and the occasion, and the result was a clever arrangement of ideas that helped to popularize the Union Building as a center of amusement. H A series of football dances in honor of the visiting teams opened the dance programs. The colors of the schools of the honored guests were carefully blended to make colorful decorations. The "Homecoming Week" dance provided a unique theme of cleverly drawn sketches of co-eds of different periods. â- The New Year's party was not held in the Union Building, but proved to be quite successful. The basketball dances added more laurels to the dance committee. In honor of St. Patrick, a delightful "Hi-jinks" affair was sponsored, carrying out the traditional Gallic idea of shamrocks and the green. Concluding the schedule, a "U" Day dance was held at a resort. â- The committee, including Mary Strange, Mary Boden, Cherry Daynes, Annette Ray, John Trenam, Earl Walker, and Elbert Sheffield, are to be congratulated for their fine work.SheffieldWalkerTrenamTwo Hundred Twenty-eight |
