Their toughest opposition come in the final game when they edged out a fighting Sigma Pi team, 37-33. â- Twelve of the thirty-five teams qualified for the final elimination tourney, after competing in a round robin. They were: Sigma Nu, Sigma Pi Nos. 1 and 2, Sigma Chi, Newmans, Skeeters, Phi Delta Theta, Dunkers, Delta Phi, Battery A, Gilmers, and Davis Alums.HANDBALLâ- Although handicapped by lack of satisfactory facilities, handball probably showed a greater increase in the number of men participating than any other single sport. â- Placing three teams in the semi-finals, Sigma Pi handball adepts completely dominated the fall competition of the sport. â- The defending champion, the faculty, was defeated in the early rounds by the new champs, who swept through the majority of their matches with comparative ease.
