Show N Debate Council TURSUING its usual policy of directing forensic afairs from an obscure position, the debate council, during the past year, has performed several important policy-forming actions. Of particular consequence was the stand taken by the council upon a proposed debating trip to New Orleans. In over-ruling this journey the council set a precedent for future decsiions of a similar nature. Likewise, other important actions were the appointment of Omar Bunnel as debate manager and Ray Owen as freshman debate coach. Upon Omar Bun-net's retirement from school, the council named Ted Moss as his successor to the debate managership. Leary, Hendrickson Parkinson, Smith Moss The Debate Council was composed of Professor Joseph Smith, of the Speech Department, who acted as chaiman; Dean William H. Leary, of the Law School, LaVerne Bane, debate coach, and three student members, Hyrum Hendrickson, Ted Moss and Jay Parkinson. All of these positions, with the exception of the one held by the debate coach are elective. Under the indirect supervision of these men the debating, oratorical, and extemporaneous speaking activities of the student body have been most successfully carried on throughout the year.
