Show Hanford, Leon, Thompson, Stohl, Cannon Cadet Sponsors The cadet sponsors are chosen each fall by ballot of all the cadets. The main purpose of the sponsors is to stimulate an interest in military activities and to aid in fostering cooperation between the department and other branches of the university. In addition to this they entertain the chief officer who makes the annual inspection in the spring. This year's cadet sponsors were: Dorothy Hanford, regimental sponsor; Dorothy Leon, senior sponsor; Dorothy Thompson, junior sponsor; Marjorie Stohl, sophomore sponsor; and Elizabeth Cannon, freshman sponsor. Cadet Officers Th HE cadet officers are annually selected from among the juniors and seniors of the Military Science Department. They &re ranked on the basis of their knowledge of military science, and standing in the department. The efficiency of the officers in command is well shown by the fact that this University maintains its high rating despite the fact that here it is entirely an elective course. The officers must serve a six-weeks' training period in the U. S. Training Camp in order to occupy the position of an officer. R. O. T. C. Cadet Officers Page 121 |
