The sign announced: We Are All Brothers and Sisters? The Professor pulled his car into the half-full parking lot? Other cars were entering at the same time? but he saw no one he knew? Inside? he found his friend and one or two other colleagues from his department, standing before the entrance to the hall where the meeting was to take place? "Hello brothers?" he said as he joined them, attempting, but not wholly succeedingV in getting the Ironic tone in his voice that he wanted? Most of them looked puzzled. Only his friend recognized his intent? "Brother!" he said? taking his hand and shaking it.in an exaggerrated way? "Good to see you, Brother?" They all entered the hall? which was not large, but larger than the Methodist chapel where they had last met? It would seat? the Professor guessed? about five hundred persons? By the time the president rapped for order, the room was full? and a few people were standing behind the chairs that were arranged in a semi-circle about the platform where the lectern stood and where the officers of the local were seated?
