Show Note -- the officer before whom the deposition is taken should call the attention of the witness to the following section of the Revised Statutes, and state to him that it is the putpose of the Government, if it be ascertained that he testifies falsely, to prosecute him to the full extent of the law. TITLE LXX -- CRIMES -- CH. 4. Sec. 5392. Every person who, having taken an oath before a conpetent tribunal, officer of person in any case in which a law of the United States authorizes an oath to be administered, that he will testify, declare, depose, or certify truly, or that any written testimony, declaration, deposition, or certificate by him subscribed is true, willfully and contrary to such oath states or subscribes may material matter which he does not believe to be true, is guilty of perjury, and shall be punished by a fine of not more than two thousand dollars, and by imprisonment at hard labor not more than five years and shall, moreover, thereafter, be incapable of giving •.•>.-.. :,>......>'........i the United States until such time as the judgment against him is reversed [See 1750] Register I hereby certify that each question and answer in the foregoing deposition was read to the applicant before she signed her, name thereto, and that the name was subscribed and sworn to before me this fifth day of May, 1880 (Signature.) 19. Q. Have you made or become the assignee of any other entry, or have you any interest, director indirect, in any other entry under the desert land act? 18. Q. Has any other person, individual, or company of individuals any interest whatever in said entry, tract, or water appropriation? If so, give the name, residence, and occupation of each such person, and the nature, amount, and extent of such interest. |
