Show 26. system over the entire valley, tne main canals, etc, having been, therefore, constructed with this end in view. twblve: The irrigation project as originally planned la incomplete, Only the "Blythe Rancho" and lands lying ad-Jacent thereto being under the main canals and laterals. (A) The uncompleted plans are entirely feasible, It being only necessary to extend the main and sub-lateral canals In order to Include under the project the entire Palo Verde "Valley, consisting of 90,000 acres of Irrigable ^ land. I was Informed by Mr. C. E. Yost, superintendent / and chief engineer, and Mr. I. W. Stewart, assistant secretary of the company, that the system would be extended to cover the entire valley Just as rapidly as the land owners and entrymen purchased stock t.o be placed on the lands to be Irrigated. (B) Although the company has stocK outstanding for but 31,14.90 acres of land, Its main canals and sub-laterals now completed extend over approximately two-thirds of the area . y of the valley, or 60,300 acres. Therefore, the per cent, r of the plans completed, based on the area to be Irrigated, Is approximately 67^. (C) The cost of constructing the system now completed, Including the equipment but no Items entering Into the ^^ cost of levee construction, Is approximately #i+S2,000.00. |
