Show 21. July 17, 1877, Thomas H. Blythe filed on 95,000 miners inches of water at Black Point , as par Book 4, page 32i, Miscellaneous Records, Ban Diego County, Cal. Black Point is a rocky point situate on the west bank of the Colorado River and is embraced in Lot 2 of Sec. 7, T, 5 8. , R. 2»f E. This point is about If miles north of the Blythe Intake. No water was ever diverted at this point. December 15, 1878, Thomas H. Blythe and 0. T. Calloway filed on 95,000 miner's inches of water, to be diverted from tne Colorado River at a point in Sec. 30, T. 5 8. , R. 21* E. In this notioe is described a main canal, then in tne process of construction. Tnls notice was recorded in Book 4, Miscellaneous Records, at page H43. Records of San Diego Oounty. 2h 3oolc 5 of Miscellaneous Records, page 14.514., Records of San Diego Oounty, is found an undated notice which was recorded February 20, 1883. According to this record, Thomas H. Blythe filed on 100,000 miners Inches of water, to be taken from the Colorado River at the point of posting, which is stated to be about midway between the north and the south lines of Sec. is, T. 5 8., R. 214. E. This point was probably Intended for the present Blythe Intake and was doubtless the filing on the water to be diverted through the intake and canals built by Thomas H. Blythe. April 2, 19014., Florence Blythe noore and A. A. Moore, Jr., her husband, filed on3ocj«~miners inches of water at Black Point , as per Book 2 of water Claims, page 59, Riverside County, California. No water was appropriated under this filing. In addition to the water rights held by the Palo Verde Mutual Yater Company, covering the water now being diverted at the ¦ Blythe Intake", the Palo Verde Mutual \/ later Company purchased from the Palo Verde Land and Water Company, on March 18, 1911, the Intake site known as "Black Point", embraced in Lot 2 of 8ec. 7, T. 5 B., R. 214. E.; and i/Calif. Ex. No. 327 (filing actually for 190,000 miner's inches) 2/callf. Ex. No. 329. 3/calif. Ex. No. 330 (posted Feb. 15, 1883). 5/Calif. Ex. No. 332. |
