Show system of the Palo Verde Mutual Water Company, and the report indicates that this has been done, the District having taken control on December 12, 1925. Duly certified copies of the deed of conveyance from the company to the District, of a resolution by the board of directors of the company authorizing the execution of the deed, and of a resolution by the stockholders of the company consenting to the sale of the company's property on the terms and conditions specified in certain contracts previously entered into, and to the execution and delivery of a deed and bill of sale for the same, and ratifying, confirming and approving the execution and delivery of said deed and bill of sale have been furnished this office in connection with the desert land entry of Madge L. Carpenter, Los Angeles 040104. The deed purports to have been executed on December 1, 1925 and accepted by the grantee on December 9, 1925.1 The resolution of the board of directors purports to have been adopted on December 1, 1925, and that of the stockholders on December 17, 1925 at their respective meetings duly held on those dates. Uncertified copies of a contract dated April 28, 19252 and three modifying agreements providing for the sale of the property have been furnished by the inspector. Powers of District. Section 10 of the statute empowers the Palo Verde Irrigation District among other things, to construct dams, reservoirs and works for the collection of water for the District, and to do any and every lawful act necessary 1Calif.
