Show OHI Grace Oshita 5-30-85 s2:46 been there, it's just as beautiful as any other canyon in the Wasatch Range here. And - they provided us lunch of chicken, corn on the cob, I think it was salad. And a French bread. I thought it was 'all you couldeat.' And we just felt that we were in heaven for a day. And we looked ~orward to it so much that every group, every block organized theparty and we had to sign up for a certain day to go on these Oak City Canyon parties. And - the first thing I felt was - the appreciation for the people of the Oak City and theoutlying areas for allowingus to do this. Becuase we didn't have any guards accompanying us. All they did was - thisgroup of Deltans coming after us, pickingus up. Andtaking us and leaving us to enjoy the canyon all day long and then~ckedus up again and brought us back to camp. LK That's nice to know. Dcyouremember the name of thefamily. GO I don't. I don't know who they were. So, we were treated equally congenially. You know, when we went to Delta to shop. therewas no feelings shown by the people. Ah, you know, ithink it reflected even to this day, for the city and the citizens of Delta, allowing us that plaque, rightin their city park, directing people who are interested in Topaz, the road, with the map and all, direction to the camp site. LK Do you think the camp site is indi~;(ative of the ·fact that they acepted you. GO Tht's right. Ahuh. |
