Show Grace Oshita 2-20-85 s5:23 call, make courtesy calls. Oh, one interesting thing that my grandmother always mentioned was. That - she and Grandfather went visiting here again, make courtesy calls, to all their customers. I don't know how often or whether they were delivering miso. I don't know. But she used to be able to mention towns from Northern California, let's see, where wouldit be. The first town in West of the Sierra Nevada would be and she would name all these towns, little towns, all the way down Sacramento, STockton, Fresno, whatever. And there would be I can't even remember. But towns and names cr people they would know. Actually, their customers. And then, she said it was such a treacherous drive over the Santa Cruz Mountain, nr instance. Youknow, it was anarrow mountain road. And she said, !remember grandfather taking cans of gasoline with him on these trips. Maybe there weren't gas stations close enough. And on the Santa Cruz Road, once a wheel came off. And she said surely she felt that was the end of their lives. L What happened. GO I guessnothing did. I guess it wasn't all that bad. At least, they weren't hurt. And at the time, she said, on a lonely road, they pickedup two hitchhikers. Caucasian hitch hikers. And they were women. So after they picked them up, they taught, oh, my goodness, I wonder if they would do any harm to them. You know. But, fortunately nothing did happen. That these two women just needed rides.
