Show Grace Oshita 2-21-85 s6:31 knee. Not that badly. It wasn't rheumatoid arthritis but she said, I couldrnver sit on the floor like the Japanese any more. You know. Whtehr that was an excuse or ot, I don't know. But. She said, you know, I'll go 'visit when you grow up. But, she said, I don't care to go back. Oh. Wait a minute. They did visit-- Themly time I remember I had heard about their taking a trip to Japan is when they selected the - my father's wife - the first wife - and when !was a year old. Urn. They took me to show me to my great grandmother. So, that's the reason I just tell everybody I've never been to Japan because I don't remember Japan. I learned to walk in Japan. And I was there 6 months, they ~11 me. And so I do not know Japan at all. L Well, you wouldn't at the age of two. GO So there are pictures of the ~ean liner. And there are pictures of our visiting Hawaii. On the way to and from Japan. With my L Didyou have any reactionto your mother dying? GO You know, like I said. I - I received letters from her and I received pictures of ~er. When there was a snapshot of two women, I didn't know which was my mother. Two women of the same age in this picture. I asked my grandmother, which one she was. So I really didn't know her. You know, as a child. And even now, I must admit, I hated writing letters.So all I can rememberis the fact that, oh, I have to write to my mother again. You know, and she would - My grandmother would tell me just about what to write. I wasn't very creative. Nor (laughs) Nor - I dont' know. Also, not knowing her, I guess I |
