To war d -- Yo u kn ow, wwhee n,1. ve most of our 11 · ves da y t o da y we know pretty well what's going b hapepn. there are certain things we don't know about. But here suddenly on every side, you face the unknown. GO Yes. That's the truth. I'll tell you a strange feeling though. As. a young person, on theother hand, I felt like I was going to summer camp, too. L How come. GO Because here we were packing, buying tin plates and tin cups. And you know, my grandmother sewing these little draw string bags for each one to put our plates and cups and forks and knives and such. And one of our relatives ~aid, well, I didn't have a pair of pants to my name. Aan Francisans, I guess even young girls only wore dresses or skirts. Mostof us did anyway. And so she said, I understand camp isn't allthat clean so I think you'll need a pair of pants. And so she sewed me a beautiful pant suit out of light denim. It was my mother's relative (who sewed itl. I don't know whether they were second cousins but this nice lady sewed me this beautiful denim suit. And you know, here I am, getting ready to go to camp. quote quote. You know. And it just felt like a summer camp. L so here in the midst of a lot of unhappiness there's also this really easy, spontaneous even joyful-- GO Yes, as far as I was concerned. Yes. I wonder if anybody else felt that. |
