He would take a little sack lunch with him, you know, and go into that area that! toldyou. You know, east of the residence of Topaz. And hike around. And hunted for arrow heads and thingsjust so he could build him self physcially. Beucase once he started the business, he said, he could not hire all the help he wanted. Back home, he was the boss. Just sat in theoffice. And made contacts with the other business. But this time, it was he who had to go into the factory and do the work. So, he was determined to get himself ready physically. LK Yes. What didyou think you wouldbe doing when you left camp. GO I was going tohelp him. iNas goingtobe his secretary-bookeeper. LK SO you wereirr some way in training too. GO That's right. LK You know, with your job. GO You know. Theprocess for themiso making ah included using small trays, separating the rice and handling it three times a day - so that the yeast wouldbe activated evenly in each grain of rice. In order to do that, they put one scoopful in each tray. And so - these trays had to be covered with a grass mat. Especially in making the yeast to activateinto the rice. Now, this yeast making was -a very~ecial process.Back home, hey used to just send for it. To Japan. Theybought it from Japan. But now,they had to make this -the yeast itself.
