Show INOR SPORTSA. F. RobbinsDirectorIntramural AthleticsMore interest, keener competition, and a larger number of participants this year than in previous years is a long step in the direction of greater intramural sports. Through an increased interest and support of the athletic council, student body and fraternal organizations, and under the able direction of Mr. A. F. Robbins, intramural sports are becoming a major attraction for students and faculty members who enjoy competitive athletic games.Intramural sports extend the benefits of organized athletic competition to all men students instead of to only the few who take part in intercollegiate competition. Year-round tournaments of several types of sports provide continuous participation in one or several different kinds of games. Leaders are developed; new athletes discovered, and new friendships are made on the gym floor, the athletic field, the swimming pool, and the tennis, horseshoe, and handball courts. Team work, fair play, and true sportsmanship are attained by student participation in intramural athletics.Credit is due the Wise brothers, Roland and Harold, for their cooperation in making the intramural sports more interesting and well managed.R.Wise, H.WiseManagersTwo Hundred Eighty-eight |
