DL: Them was a problem, you know, against the Navajos and the Paiutes and some of them were friends, they talked real good and some of them they didn't like the Navajos and somebody didn't like the Paiutes. There was quite a difference between one person and the other one. Because of their horses and sheep and everything. FO: Um hum. DL: One of them just x^ ant to have the whole outfit. FO: Yah. When the Paiutes were over there they practiced witchcraft while you were on Navajo Mountain? DL: Yah, I x? as over on the North side. FO: You were on the North side. And there were Navajos over there that tried this witchcraft against the Paiutes then. DL: No, they was from x< jay over, like Gallup, Lake, Cox^ springs , FO: Cowsprings? DL: Um hum. FO; Those were the areas where most of the witchcraft x^ ent on? DL: Yah. FO: Now, did the witchcraft make the Paiutes sick? DL: Yah, some of the they die. FO: Oh, some of them died because of the witchcraft? DL: Um hum, cause they know how to use it. FO: Um hum. DL: Them Navajos, you know. They say when the wind comes out they go a long ways. |
