Show • 21- FO: Buried them x^ ay out. DL: Um hum. FO: Did you kill the horse? DL: Yah, we had to kill the horse. FO: Did you bury anything with them besides- did you bury their private property with them, or did you . . . DL: Yah, we found like they had some beads, you know, bracelet and something that's good, you know, we buried everything with their body they got and sometimes that person would have a bunch of horses and we just shoot them horses off with a gun and then throw the gun away with them. There x-? as, you know, religion at that time. FO: No more. DL: No more, now, white man- x^ e've got to do the white man x^ ay noxvdays. FO: Which way do you like the better? DL: Oh, I remember the Indian way is better, but they disappear even if they was laid in a good box or good everything, they go the same way. I don't think there's no difference between a good box, a high- priced box. That's the way I feel about it, I don't know. FO: Was there a kind of a funeral ceremony before they buried them? DL: No, we just had to have all the kids and just the person took care the body, you know, had to stay four days in one place and then take it back, when that four days is over why we just take it back and be free like anyone can. |
