Show - 10- DL: But it's got a good country. I've been on it just by airplane, way up on top. FO: Over at Douglas Mesa, did you know the people xjho lived over there? DL: Yah, them old timers, but they all gone. FO: They're all gone, huh. DL: Um hum. FO: I see. When you left Navajo Mountain to come over to here to x^ ork, did anyone come with you or did you come alone? DL: No, I had a friend. FO: Who is your friend? DL: They was from Navajo Mountain, like, see they was guys from here but they died. FO: Do you remember their names? DL: Yah. There was old Piatt May and Willie Lehi and Lester Olatsen and me and there's quite a bunch of us and we just went around you know. FO: Did you work as cowboys? DL: Yah. FO: Punching cows? DL: Um hum. FO: Did you have your own horses, or did they furnish you horses? DL: Well, I had my own horses but they- mostly I used my own horses out there for a long time. I used to have good horses but they didn't want me to ride my own horses. So I'd swap about noon and take the outfits horses. |
