Show - 11- GT: For the afternoon, huh. FO: Which outfit did you work for? DL: I worked for Joe Nielson and Dorece Nielson. I worked there a long time. I hate the winter up there. Stay in the wintertime x\? hen the snows real deep. We had horses tied up, four hourses so they can go around and they haul hay, you knox?, gallop and go around about 25 miles clear around. Take me a whole day just to scatter that hay out, you know. Then I'd come back home and the rest of the day I stayed home cause the snow was too deep. FO: Ites it hard to ride a horse through it? DL: Yah, but the horse could go, you know. FO: When you did that thing of giving the cattle the hay, x^ hich canyon were you in. Where were you over there? DL: Well, I was, you what they call- x<? hat' s this canyon down here they call . . . GT: Westwater? DL: No, way down there . . . GT: Combs? DL: Below . . . GT: Cottonwood? DL: King Gulch. FO: King Gulch? DL: I was on this side. FO: Way out there. DL: I was down close to on top of it, it was called Bullit. FO: Um hum. GT: Where did you live? DL: I was living right here. |
