Show 1877.] ANTHOBRANCHIATE NUDIBRANCHIATE MOLLUSCA. 241 identical with Doridopsis. In 1871 Mr. Pease still adhered to his own genus ; and he did not consider it synonymous with Alder and Hancock's, for which he at the same time proposed the name Haustellodoris. While agreeing with M. Bergh that Mr. Pease's forms are probably species of Alder and Hancock's genus, we cannot follow him in adopting "Doriopsis" as the generic name, not only because none but Mr. Pease's own species, about which we cannot always feel sure, will fall under that genus as defined by him, but also because the root of "Doris" is " Dorid-," and not "Dori-;" so that "Doridopsis" is more correct etymologically than "Doriopsis."
