The name Union Fort symbolized a grand- effort. This name would typify the town for . succeeding decades. The chronological history of Union, Utah, 'comes to an end during the first decade of the twentieth century (about the same time precinct government and local school districts were abolished>. Nevertheless, there remained a pronounced interest in the past. The annual Union Fort Days celebration helped keep it alive.17 But it, too, suffered a demise after 1960.
