Show 65 (e) The term "Lee Ferry" means a point in 66 the main stream of the Colorado River one mile 67 below the mouth of the Paria River. 68 (f) The term "Upper Basin" means those 69 parts of the States of Arizona, Colorado, New 70 Mexico, Utah and Wyoming within and from 71 which waters naturally drain into the Colorado 72 River System above Lee Ferry, and also all parts 73 of said states located without the drainage area 74 of the Colorado River System which are now or 75 shall hereafter be beneficially served by waters 76 diverted from the System above Lee Ferry. 77 (g) The term "Lower Basin" means those 78 parts of the States of Arizona, California, Ne- 79 vada, New Mexico and Utah within and from 80 which waters naturally drain into the Colorado 81 River System below Lee Ferry, and also all parts 82 of said states located without the drainage area 83 of the Colorado River System which are now or 84 shall hereafter be beneficially served by waters 85 diverted from the System below Lee Ferry. 86 (h) The term "domestic use" shall include 87 the use of water for household, stock, municipal, 88 mining, milling, industrial and other like pur- 89 poses, but shall exclude the generation of electri- 90 cal power. 91 ARTICLE III. 92 (a) There is hereby apportioned from the 93 Colorado River System in perpetuity to the Up- 94 per Basin and to the Lower Basin respectively 95 the exclusive beneficial consumptive use of 7,- 96 500,000 acre feet of water per annum, which 97 shall include all water necessary for the supply 98 of any rights which may now exist. 99 (b) In addition to the apportionment in 100 paragraph (a) the Lower Basin is hereby given 101 the right to increase its beneficial consumptive 102 use of such waters by one million acre feet per 103 annum. 104 (c) If, as a matter of international comity, 3 |
