Show The following is interview number one with Mr. Robert Cuellar, conducted by Greg Coronado at 8325 Westlawn Avenue in Westchester, California, on December 26, 1972. RC dy name is Robert Cuellar. RC Right ' now I'm the Deputy Director for Planning, Evaluation and ~nagement Information Systems with Jobs for Progress, · Inc., otherwise known as SER. GC You work, that's a Los Angeles outfit, right? RC That's a national program run from Los Angeles. GC Are you originally from Los Angeles? RC No, I'm not. To cover somewhat my background, Greg, I grew up partly in south Texas in Edinburg until 1957 when I moved to Odessa, Texas, a very different environment. I graduated from high school in 1959. From there I went to North Texas State University. I received a Bachelors and Masters degree in 1966 and '69; respectively. I transferred from there to the University of Texas and from there I came to California in 1969. GC What were your degrees in, Robert? RC My Bachelor's degree was in American History, my Masters degree was specialized in Latin American History, and at the pr esent I'm working towards a Doctoral in Vocation Education at UCLA. GC You said you went to the University of Texas? |
