C'eft le propre de la Peinture Se du Balet d'imiter & de représenter toutes fortes de fujets: mais le Balec a cet avantage fur la Peinture qui n'a jamais qu'un mouvement, toutes ces figures demeurant toujours dans la même fi--tuation > au lieu que le Balet eit une fuite de mouvemens fuccefïîfs: tous les perfonnages d'un tableau font immobiles ; Se s'ils femblent ic mouvoir par les charmes de la Peinture, néanmoins ils n'ont qu'une feule action. Les Anciens ont aullï diftingué trois fortes de mouvemens dans les Balets, qui font les ports du corps,les figures, &: les exprefïions. Les ports du corps font les mouvemens harmoniques ou les pas , & les actions de la danfe ; comme couper en avant, en arrière , tourner, pirouetter, caprioler, le battement , iaiitcr, sVlever, &c. Les ex-prcilions font les actions qui marquent , comme les forgerons, les rameurs , ks endormis, des perfonnes prifes de vin, des luteurs, &c. Et les figures font les diverfes difpo/îtions |
