Show 362 LOUISIANA enactment by the legislature in 1964 of enabling legislation which established a water resources study commission to study the ground and surface waters of the State and to report to the legislature no later than June 30, 1968.72 The life of the commission was subse- quently extended to June 30, 1972.73 It is not known at this time whether the commission has filed its report. It may well be that Louisiana will in the near future consider new legislation on water rights, particularly with respect to ground water.
