Matinee, Dance of All Nations," given by the Cosmopolitan Club MARCH 23.................Engineers' Matinee dance "Society is now one polished horde, Formed of two mighty tribes-the Bores and the Bor'd." This year is a decided growth of the idea that the Greek Letter organizations take upon themselves, the responsibility of the social life of the school. The success or failure of all varsity entertainments seem to hinge upon the patronage of the sororities and the fraternities, which they choose to give provided the events do not interfere with their own plans of pleasure. The annual Leap-Year dance, appealing to the female organizations, exceeded its predecessors both in finance and festivity, and Aunt Lucy was indeed the lioness of the day. The greatest social event of the year was the twelfth annual Junior Prom, held at the State Capitol of Utah. Decorations and refreshments, excepting the Junior booth, were left in the hands of the fraternities, and the affair proved itself indeed worthy of its imposing setting. It has been justly termed the most brilliant promenade within the history of the University. 150 > ' ' * ¦ ' ' _ ' ^WwwwMw |
