He would take upon Himself our sins and redeem us from the power of the evil' one, into which man had fallen. GOd: cannot save man in his sin, but' will save man from sin! Matt. b21.' conditions to this salva tion. Man must look to God alone, for this saving means. Isa. 45:21, 22, 23; Luke 14:26 to 34 He also must repent and bring forth fruit meet for repent ance and be baptized into Christ. Re pen tance is very little understood to day. It is not mere sorrow Lor a single sin, but a deep and thorough sorrow, which comes into our souls as the Spirit of God moves upon us and con victs us of our sinful nature, our lost and fallen condition.
