Show "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen," or faith forms a solid ground for what is hoped for, a conviction of unseen realities. "And the apostles said unto the Lord, increase out faith." "So then faith cometh by'. hearing, and hearing by the word of God." "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but tha:t the world through him might be saved:' The Lord said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him." "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the king dom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people." "And Jesus answering saith unto them, have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this moun tain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe' tha:t those thinqs which he strUh' shall (:ome. .to pass; he shall have whatsoe.ver he saith. There fore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe ye re.ceive them, and ye shall have them." "My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Heb, 11:1, Luke 17:5, Rom. 10: 17, John 3: 16-17, Matt. 17:5, Matt. 9:35, Mark 11 :22-24, Phil. 4: 19). Thus we see by these scriptures that faith. is a firm relying trust on Christ and His word. It is what God has told us to trust in that we are to believe and not the teachings of mankind which are contrary to the word of God. We also see by these scriptures that God has supplied a remedy for all the needs of mankind, that Christ on Cal vary's cross bore all our sins, all our sickness, all our trials and afflictions. This goes into our hearts in faith as we read the word of God and pray and ac cept Christ as our Savior. The way our faith is increased is to give to all the word of God we understand and keep on reading His word and seeking always in prayer in Jesus' name and by faith in Christ and His words we receive the blessing and our faith increases as we trust in Him. It is not enough. to say we believe on our lips and then doubt in our hearts. "For with the heart main believeth unto righteousness." (Rom. 10: 10). |
