Show Most people will tell you that they be lieve there is a God. They have in their own heart an idea of God which they in terpret to be the true conception of God. Generally this Is far from the truth. The God that most people have conjured up in their own hearts, does not cross their pur poses or their desires. Let's examine this God of the hearts of most people wIth the God revealed in the scriptures and we will see the difference. People say that their God is too merci ful to cast them on torever, that their God has provided a purgatory or prison house after this life wnere tney can repent, }leo pIe say that their God doesn't mind them partaking of worldly amusements and pleasures of this lite. People say that their God teaches, "Just join a church and do the best you can once saved, always saved." People say, "Pay your tithing and you on't be burned." People say, "The Lordi understands my heart and I'll get justice from Him." People say that our children should be baptized and they will be alright. People say that eventually all men will be saved, others say that the wicked will be annihilated. - Let's examine these ideas that people have of God with the God revealed in the scriptures. God says that crll mankind must repent, believe Christ, be washed in His blood and born of His Spirit or they will be endlessly lost. God says that now is the day of salvation. God says that if we love the pleasures of life or of this world, that His love is not in us. God does nit tell us just to do the best we can, in stead He tells us to come unto Christ and power will be given us to conquer all things. He also tells us we must endure to the end. God says that He understands the heart and that it is wicked and deceit ful above all things and that we must be born again. (Jer. 17::9 and John 3:7). God sa,ys that it is mercy we need, for if we get Justice we will go to hell. God says that little children me under His mercy and do not need baptism. The God 01 the Scrip tures says that all mankind will not be saved and that the wicked will go to hell and will 'live on in eternal misery and separation from Him. But people say, "If that is what God is li.ke we don't want any thing to do wi 'h Him." This is the God you fight and will not believe. Take the God revealed in the Scrlntures and see now if you love Him, for He is a God of truth and righteousness. !-1!e does not deviate from His word. Onlv those who trust in this God will be saved. "Now is the day of salva.tion." "Love world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the :lesh,· and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father. but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that deeth the will of God abideth for ever."
