As we noted at that time, the state law which created this tax credit requires the proposed rehabilitation work be submitted to our office and approved before work begins. Any approval given during our earlier discussions was only preliminary and specific to individual work items and not the entire project. An application is still needed if you plan to seek the state historic preservation tax credit. The forms we provided contain the instructions to describe the rehab work and apply for the tax credit. We encourage you to quickly submit a complete application with photographs, drawings, and product information (as needed) for our review. The application can be amended during the project if conditions or scope of work changes. We will review your application and inform you if the proposed work meets the Secretary of the Interior's "Standards for Rehabilitation" as is required for the state tax credit. We are pleased you are interested in preserving this historic building and would not want anything to jeopardize the state tax credit. If you need a new application or have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 533-3562 or Barbara Murphy at 533-3563. Sincerely, ~. Charles M.
