I73 6‘ legal SubjeCtion to the governing» Powers of " POLITICAL AND COMMERCIAL SCHEME II. \VIIEREFORE the 2d Propofal is, To attempt to perl‘uade the Colonies to fend our a certain Number of Reprefentatives to fit and vote in the Briti/Jz Parliaments, in order to incorporate America and Great Britain into one common Empire. * THIS is the Scheme of a very worthy Gentleman, eminently verfed in the Laws and Confiitution of Great-Britain, and what is [fill better, a real, not a pretended Patriot. Let us therefore examine it with as much Refpeét and Deference to his Opinion, as the Caufe of Truth will permit; which I am well perfuaded, is full as much as he would require. HE therefore proceeds, at Page Io, to propofe his Scheme for remedying this Mis fortune; viz.
